  1.    If you desire a feeling for where this program fits into
  2. the general scheme of things please read ALP_INTR.TXT.   It
  3. was included on the ALPS Software Disks.
  4.    This program can be used to perform decision analysis
  5. studies.   There are seven algorithms used in this program:
  6. single pay compound amount factor, single pay present worth
  7. factor, uniform series sinking fund factor, uniform series
  8. capital recovery factor, uniform series compound amount
  9. factor, uniform series present worth factor, and an algorithm
  10. for determining the anticipated dollar salvage value of land
  11. and building.
  12.    These algorithms are combined to allow performing or
  13. forming discounted cash flow analysis, amortization tables
  14. (including pay back strategy analysis), depreciation
  15. schedules (straight line or sum of the years methods), and
  16. rate of return analysis.
  17.    No attempt is made here to teach Engineering Economics,
  18. only to provide a tool for those so trained.
